Joseph Judd

August 18, 1934 ~ December 1, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Mr. Joseph Judd, age 83 of 3508 Renee Drive, Sanford, NC passed on Friday, December 1, 2017 at his residence.

Joseph Judd, age 83, transitioned from this life to eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 1, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Joseph Judd (“Pa”) was born in Harnett County on August 18, 1934 to the late Theodore and Josephine Judd. Joseph is a high school graduate of Harnett County Schools.  In his lifetime, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a machinist at Roberts Company. At the age of 35, Joseph’s health condition began to decline.

He was a proud member of the Elks Lodge 688 (3 decades of service), American Legion Post 267, and Lillington-Shawtown Alumni Association.

Joseph was a hard-working and family oriented man. He was well loved and known throughout the city of Sanford. He was affectionately known as the “Mayor of Carr Creek”. When he wasn’t working on home improvement projects, he drove members of the community to various destinations such as local stores, voting polls, and appointments. His favorite places to shop was Wal-Mart and “The Pig”.  We will always remember his daily routine of quiet time in his recliner. For instance, while watching his favorite shows the Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, and Family Feud one knew not to turn the television or utter a single word.

Anyone that knew him, understood how much he loved him some Lou Lou.  Joseph was the patriarch of the family. He served as the president of the Judd and Womack Family Reunion Committee for numerous years.

He is preceded in death by his brothers: Glasco Judd, Henry Judd, Peter Judd, Thomas Judd, Alfonzia Judd, Clifton Judd, and James Judd; sisters, Lillian Williams and Lucille Judd and grandson, George Timothy Goldston.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 61 years, Lois L. Judd of the home, one son, Brutus Judd (Patrilla) of Raven Rock, NC; four daughters, Shirley Bryant (Allie) of Lillington, NC, Annette Judd of Fayetteville, NC, Diane Wooten (Louis) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Angela M. Judd of Fayetteville, NC; two brothers, Stewart Judd (Linda) of Sanford, NC and Nathaniel Judd of Sanford, NC; two sisters, Betty Williams (Bishop) of Raleigh, NC and Mernilla Gaines (Joseph) of Garner, NC; and sister-in-law, Margaret Judd; his grandchildren, Lakarsha M. Mitchell, Nicholas Cole (Carmen), Wilma Judd, Rinalda Johnson-Walker (Andre), Jasmine N. Nixon, Martinique L. Nixon, Whitney Harrison (Miguel), Michael Silochan (Vanessa), Natasha Silochan, and Latoya Silochan and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, friends, and extended family.
