Mr. Johnny M. McIver, age 65 of Sanford, NC passed on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at The Laurels of Chatham, Pittsboro, NC.

Johnny Marshall McIver was born May 5, 1954 to Joseph and Josephine C. McIver. He departed this life Thursday, August 22, 2019 at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro, NC.

He attended Greenwood High School and worked at Hallman Foundry for many years. Johnny loved to sing and play the guitar. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Calvin Snipes; his parents, Joseph and Josephine C. McIver; and two sisters, Elion Evans and Nancy McIver Baldwin.

He leaves to cherish his memoires: one daughter, Monica P. McIver of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Johnny M. McLean (Andrea), Derrick B. Cox and Christopher D. Cox, all of Sanford, NC; five brothers, Clifton Covington, Joseph McIver, Winfred McIver (Daisy) all of Sanford, NC; Bruce McIver (Arlethia) of Richmond, VA and Charles Covington of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Sylvia Hooker of Charlotte, NC; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a special friend, Caroline Cox and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
