John Archie Reese Jr.

John Archie Reese, Jr. transitioned from this life on December 24, 2019 at Kindred Hospital, in Greensboro, NC at the age of 74.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his only son, John A. Reese, III "John John".

John was born on January 14, 1945, to the late John A. Sr. and Katie V. Reese in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he obtained his education. He joined the United States Air Force on June, 3, 1964. John obtained military education in various areas, such as OJT Trainer/Supervisor, Aircraft Maintenance Technical Engineering, NCO Leadership School as well as Military Airlift Command. He served in Vietnam and received many medals, accommodations and ribbons. His rewards included a Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry, and NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon among others. John retired from the US Air Force on December 31, 1985, after 21 years, 6 months, and 28 days of service. Once retired from the military, he worked as a student recruiter at Central Carolina Community College.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Fox-Reese, of the home; three sisters, Sandra Beatrice Spencer and Juanita Reese, both of Lynchburg, Va. and Joyce Watson-Hobson (Kirtner) of Lanham, Md.; one aunt, Geraldine Matthews of Brooklyn, NY and nephews, one niece, and a host of other relatives.
