John Edward King

Mr. John Edward King, age 69 of 277 Madison Lane, Cameron, NC passed on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pinehurst, NC.

John Edward "Butch" King was born on June 29, 1949 to Annie King Young and Stanley King in Pittsburg, PA. 

“Butch” as he was affectionately known, married the love of his life, Hattie Brower King. “Butch” was a 1967 graduate of Johnsonville High School. He enjoyed playing basketball and football which were passions that followed him throughout his life. His secondary education was received at Essex College in Newark, NJ.

“Butch's” early Christian education was received at Spout Springs Presbyterian Church and later at Johnsonville A.M.E. Zion.

“Butch” held numerous positions in many capacities.  His latest public employment was with GKN Drivelines in Sanford, NC.

“Butch” was preceded in death by his son, Sinyakee and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie of the home, two sons, Robert King (Patricia), and Anthony Rogers (Tressa), both of Lillington, NC, one brother, Willie Young of Cameron, NC,  12 grandchildren, God children, Damius Brower (Kim), Aaron Brower (Erika),  Brianna Brower and Lamont Hope; six sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
