James Monroe Obituary

James Arthur Monroe, age 72 of 3513 Renee Dr., Sanford, NC passed on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital.

Mr. James Arthur aka "Cuda" Monroe was born on August 25, 1947 in Sanford, NC to the late Alexander Monroe and Henrietta Newby Monroe. "Cuda" was the oldest of five children.

"Cuda" as he was affectionately known was a very friendly and outgoing person who never met strangers and could get along with anyone. He was educated in the Lee County School system.

"Cuda" was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Monroe and his sister, Mrs. Emma Jean Gooding.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a son, James Richmond of Sanford, NC; his mother, Henrietta Monroe of the home; two brothers, Charles Monroe (Alfreda) and Michael Monroe; a sister, Joyce Cox (Bobby) all of Sanford, NC; two granddaughters, Kourtney Elerby and Jillian Roberts; one aunt, Maggie Newby and a host or nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.
