James Belvin Smith

James Belvin Smith, age 66 of 218 Simmons St., Sanford, NC passed on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital. 

James Belvin Smith “JB” was born October 8, 1952; he was called to eternal rest on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital.  He was the son of the late Henry and Ethel Smith.  “JB” was born in Sanford, NC.

He attended W.B. Wicker School in Sanford, NC.  After leaving school he worked at Hallman Foundry for many years and then relocated to New York City where he was employed at Cornell University.  He wanted to be closer to his loving family so he moved back to Sanford.

He was preceded in death in by his parents: Henry and Ethel Smith; four brothers: John Henry Smith, Clifton “Bro” Smith, Lewis “Jr” Smith, and William “Albert” Smith; and two sisters: Mary “Sis” Mclean and Carolyn Smith.

He leaves to mourn his cherished memories, one sister: Linda Smith of Sanford, NC; three brothers: Donnie Smith (Carol), Bennie Smith, and Joseph “JT” Smith all of Sanford, NC; one sister-in-law, Hazel Smith and one brother-in-law,  Glen McLean, two special friends: Rodney Watson and Anita
Murchison and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.
