Mrs. Ida Johnson Ramos Moody, age 83 of 716 Lakewood Drive, Siler City, NC passed on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Chatham Hospital, Siler City, NC.

Mrs. Ida Johnson Ramos Moody departed this life on January 6, 2018.  She was born on April 4, 1934, to the late Curtis and Alberta Johnson.  Ida was raised on Hickory Mtn., in Chatham county, NC.  After graduating from Horton High School, she attended Durham Business College.  Upon completing her studies at the Business College she moved to New York City and began working for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and later retired from AT&T Phone Company of New York. 

Ida was a Girl Scout Leader and very active in her church.  She loved to cook to the sounds of the late Lou Rawls, crotchet, gardening  and her most favorite pastime was shopping.  She was known to be a professional shopper and loved to find a good bargain.  Most of all she was widely known for opening her home and heart to anyone in need, she just loved people.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo R. Moody; her parents, Curtis and Alberta Johnson; her two sisters, Catherine Dixon and Nina Crowder,  and three brothers, Cleatus, Reatus and Lynwood Johnson.

Ida's memory will be cherished by her children, Belinda Joy Ramos of NJ, Louisa (Binky) of NC, Tina McSwain of NJ, Sandee & Eric (her chocolate chip) Davis of NC, Luis Ramos of NC, Alvina Platt Gregory of NJ, Katrina & Lester McCormick of NJ, Debra Moody-Bass of AL and David Moody of NJ; her grandchildren: Tara Ramos, Alicia Atwater, Teandra and Carl Hardy, Eric & Nina Davis, Yolanda Atwater, Chanelle & Josh Lackey, K. Leslie Boyd, Sara Moody, Brittany Moody, Masi & Amiaza Platt, Dr. Manu Platt, Matthew Platt, Lamar McCormick and Joshua Bass; twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter Parker (Tootie) Barren; her sister, Euvetta Tiburcio of NJ; one sister-in-law, Lucille Johnson of NC;, two nephews Deon Burnette and Douglas Tiburcio; two nieces Vernelle Marsh and Sheryl Lynn Dunn and a very special friend Teasie Davis and a host of friends and loved ones.
