Gwendolyn E. Briggs

Ms. Gwendolyn E. Briggs age 49 of 277 Firetower Rd., Pittsboro, NC passed on Friday, May 25, 2018 at her residence.

Gwendolyn “Wendy” Eleanor Briggs was born June 15, 1968 at UNC Memorial Hospital. One of five children born to the late Marion Wendell Briggs and Sarah Jane Craig Briggs and she slumbered away on May 25, 2018 to be with the Lord. 

She was formally in the Chatham County School System and obtained her certified Nursing training at Central Carolina Community College. Gwendolyn “Wendy” was such a loving warm and caring woman. She received the Lord at Staunton Memorial, during the service for the homegoing of her dearly departed daughter, Ariel Anjaniece Alston. Which made her transition to her heavenly home easier to bear. She truly loved her family with all of her heart. She could always bring a smile upon your face. Telling jokes was her thing. But a real big heart she truly had. If she could give you the shirt off her back, she would. She loved taking are of the elderly. “Wendy” had such a passion for helping those in need. You could always depend on her for anything. She loved to cook, sing and dance; enjoying life. Her love for her soulmate and children was a bond that was unbreakable. A wonderful woman who will be missed and loved always. 

She was preceded in death by her only son, Leon Elliot Alston; her daughter, Ariel Anjaniece Alston and her sister, Theresa “Tee” Alston.
 She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving daughter, Kenya “K.C.” Cierra Alston; her soul mate, Terry “Hungry” Leon Alston and, four grandchildren: Jah’Kenya Alston and Caneisha Alston of Durham, NC, Neveah Degraffenreidt of Chapel Hill, NC and Aziyah Alston of Mebane, NC, three sisters, Aleacia Fisher of Chapel Hill, NC, Donna McIntyre of Palm Bay, FL and Traci Briggs of Mebane, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
