Geraldine Catherine Richardson

Ms. Geraldine Catherine Richardson, age 74 passed on Friday, July, 5, 2019 at Magonila House in Sanford, NC.

On Dec 18, 1944 Geraldine C Richardson was born at City Hospital to the late Gladys Barksdale and was raised by John and Anna Pitts. She was very artistic and loved drawing and tap dancing as a child. She was one of the oldest of the grandchildren which meant she had to look over her younger cousins and that’s what started her care giving path.

Geraldine would help anyone; it didn’t matter if you were a homeless person on the street or one of the neighborhood kids. If she had five dollars, she’d give you her last.

Geraldine loved to travel and didn’t mind travelling by foot. She’s probably walked all of Baltimore City with her children in tow. If the kids were getting restless, she would take them on long walks which sometimes have her downtown or at a family members house way across town.

Geraldine was a avid collector of all things unique. She loved going to the thrift store and buying antique dolls. She was a volunteer for many years and loved helping the elderly.

Geraldine leaves behind to cherish her memories: Husband Charles Richardson, five children: Hope Barksdale, Geraldine Fielder (Son in-law) Marcus Fielder, Robert Baker, (Daughter in-law) Clara Baker, Allen Baker & Kesa Baker (Deceased) twenty one grandchildren and four great grandchildren. And host of family members.
