George Elliott Wiley

George Elliott Wiley, age 65 of 2906 Kendale Dr., Sanford, NC passed on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehab. 

George Elliott Wiley was born on January 2, 1953 in Chatham County, NC to the late Mark Wiley and Maggie Glover Wiley. He departed this life on Friday morning, September 21, 2018 at the Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Pinehurst, NC.

He attended Chatham High School and was always fascinated with playing the drums. He was an avid collector of stones, artifacts, and photography. His personality was contagious, and you never saw him without a smile on his face. He was employed at the Feed Mill before he became paralyzed in 1987.

George was preceded in death by his mother; father; sisters: Diane Wiley and Nina Newby; brother, William Parker Wiley; and daughter, Stephanie White.

He leaves to celebrate and cherish his life three brothers: Jerry Wiley of New Bern, NC; Kenneth Wiley of the home, and Tony Ledwell of Siler City, NC; four grandchildren: Diamond Dudley of Siler City, NC; Aliya Dudley of Ramseur, NC; BJ Dudley of Ramseur, NC; and Quamai Brower of Bear Creek, NC; a special friend: Sarah Strayhorn of Mebane, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
