Essie Christine Brewington

Essie "Mor" Christine Brewington, age 88 of 352 McKay Drive, Spring Lake, NC passed on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC. 

Mrs. Essie Christine McNeil Brewington was born February 21, 1930, in Harnett County to the late Herbert and Mary McNeil. 

She was married to the late John D. Brewington and to this union eleven children were born . She attended Cedar Grove School. After her schooling, she became a beautician. Later in her life, she had several occupations. She retired her employment from Deep River Restaurant as their head cook.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baby sitting, and taking trips with her beautiful daughters. She collected hats and dolls. 

She was a member of the New Town Holiness Church in McKoy Town where she was a faithful and active member. She later joined the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ DOC in Mt. Gilead, NC. In her later years she was a member of the Love, Faith, & Power Christian Church where she served as a faithful member of the Mother Board.

She leaves to mourn: eleven children; Billy A. Brewington (Melinda) of Cameron, NC, Brenda B. Weeks (Edward) of Charlotte, NC, Bobby W. Brewington of Kansas, Beatrice B. Smith (Aleveolus) of Sanford, NC, Betty J. Cameron (Van) of Sanford, NC, Brookie Brewington of the home, Berline B. McDougald of Broadway, NC, Bernita B. Camarota (Dennis) of Florida, Barbara B. Carnegie (Richard) of Sanford, NC, Beverly A. Hunter (Joe) of Sanford, NC, Barry W. Brewington (Karyna) of Ohio; one sister, Dorothy M. Payne of Detroit, MI, 67 grandchildren, 140 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
