Elion Estelle Evans

Mrs. Elion Estelle Evans, age 70 of 784 South Plank Road, Sanford, NC passed on Monday February 5, 2018 at SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Healthcare, Pittsboro, NC. 

Mrs. Elion Estelle McIver Evans gained her heavenly wings on Monday February 5, 2018. She was born December 28, 1947 to Catherine Chesney and the late Joseph McIver. Elion was born and raised in Sanford, NC. 

Elion loved God and was a faithful member of Poplar Springs AME Church in Sanford, NC where she served on the Missionary Board, and The Traveling Echos and New Light Singers, etc.

She worked at Coty in Sanford, NC for sixteen years where she never met a stranger and was loved by many. Elion touched so many people on her journey thru life and always made you feel that you were special. One of her many quotes were "It's All About Love". 

Elion was preceded in death by her father, Joseph McIver;  sister, Nancy McIver Baldwin; brothers, Eddie Chesney and Billie McSwain, and son-in-law, Barry Guyton Sr.

Elion will leave her legacy to be carried on thru: her husband, Levi Evans of the home: her children: Vera Guyton of Cameron, NC, Tim Evans Sr. (Roz) of Abilene, TX, Alfred  Evans of the home, Derrick Evans of Sanford, NC, and "Her grandson whom she raised, Darelle Evans (Shekita) of Sanford, NC; mother, Catherine Chesney (Albert) of Sanford, NC; grandchildren: DeMario Kai, Jeffrey, Janay, Chanell, Tiana, Tim Jr., Elijah, Alfred Jr., Tiffany Smith, Tiffany Spruiell,  Derrick Jr., Tavist, and Trinity; great grandchildren: Desmond, Ayden, Alahnna, Akarie, Jalik and Dillon; one sister: Sylvia Hooker: brothers: Larry Covington, Joseph McIver, Johnny McIver, Roland McIver (Kathleen), George McIver, Bruce McIver (Arlethia), Winfred McIver (Daisy), Jimmie McIver (Sharon) and Larry Chesney; god daughter, Angie White, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
