Steve and Family,
It has been a great pleasure for me to have met a wonderful and gracious lady at Centennial AME Zion Church; Doris made me feel welcome and that I fit in even before I had become a member. In fact, everyone has given me a warm and friendly welcome. We all at Centennial will miss Doris for her warm smile and her beautiful personality.

We can look forward to the day when there will be no more sickness and death. Revelation 21:4 says: "And he God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Isaiah 33:24; 1 Corinthians 15:26 jw.org

I can’t comprehend just how sad you must feel
For the loss of someone you love.
This sorrowful time must still feel unreal
And you’re looking for strength from above.
I hope, from my heart, that your pain will decrease,
That your spirit will gain strength again,
And I pray that your faith will create inner peace And that God will send blessings--Amen.

To the family: When I began teaching in Chatham County back in the 80's Doris was one of those teachers I met who encouraged and inspired me. We worked on a committee together, and she earned so much respect for her dedication to our work. I did not see her often (enough), but when I did she always had a smile and encouraging words for me. A mutual friend from church mentioned Doris a few times, which always reminded me of her wonderful spirit and brought a smile to my face. That friend also told me of her passing, which both shocked me and broke my heart. You have my deep sympathy, but I hope you can have some comfort in knowing how special she was to so many!

Steve, Nia, and Jason - I was so shocked to learn of the passing of my friend. She was a wonderful, knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring person. She made the cake for my mother's 90th birthday, which was both beautiful and delicious! Every time we met, we talked and talked and talked, and believe me, the pleasure was all mine. Please know I am praying for you all, for renewed strength and comfort from your faith in Almighty God to help and sustain you and from all the beautiful memories you shared. I believe this sweet angel has gone to be with her Lord.

I was fortunate enough to have worked one year teaching 4th Grade with Mrs. Marsh at Siler City Elementary. Mrs. Marsh was also a coworker of my mother's for many years. She taught my brother 4th Grade. Sam was so excited when Mrs. Marsh introduced him to long division! I remember her organizing the "Post Office" for the students. She touched so many lives as a teacher. She was loved by her students and her colleagues.

Nia, Jason, and Steve it grieved me to hear of the passing of your beloved one. I know it was a tremendous loss to you as well as others.Cherish the beautiful memories that you had as a family and trust God to give you the strength to sustain you. Earth has no sorrows that heaven can not heal.God’s tomorrow is a beautiful place. Life is not all sweetness. There is much that is bitter, and we often cannot believe that anything good could come from it. Certainly all things are not good, but we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

To Steve, your children and the extended Family, Words are inadequate to express how sorry I was to hear of Doris's passing; even though I did not know her well it is remarkable how much of an impression she left on me. Her laughter, her words, her very warmth just enveloped me and made me feel like we were fast friends. I know you all miss her now and even more so in the days to come. But know that "joys comes in the morning;" we pray for your strength to make it through this night. Zenobia

Sorry for the loss of your loved one. John 5:28, 29 assures Jesus will restore life to those who has died. Revelation 21:3, 4 gives further assurance death will be swallowed up forever. This is a comforting thought knowing your loved one is in God's memory. Hope this brings comfort.

Steve this is Walter Hatcher oldest sister.. I only met Doris personally once but at that time with
the spirit of love and kindness showed she felt like family from that time on. Five years ago when my daughter was planning her wedding and told me what she had in mind for her cake, since Doris had baked so many beautiful and delicious cakes for the family I called Doris. She went above and beyond, even bought the cakes to us from Bear Creek to Charlotte. Such a beautiful soul. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. Love you.

My heart is. truly broken over the passing of Mrs. Marsh. Truly an angel she was. We worked for many years together as colleagues
and friends. We were able to put on fashion show together years ago and what professional she was. I will always remember the beautiful smile she had. Heaven has gained an angel into their heavenly choir. To the family I say" Remember she is merely sleeping and will be waiting to see you on
