Mr. Clyde Roy Thompson Jr., age 65 of 365 Clarence McKeithen Rd, passed on Friday, May 31, 2019 at  Reid Heart Center, Pinehurst, NC.

Mr. Clyde Roy Thompson Jr. was born on August 22, 1953 in Sanford, NC to the late Clyde Roy Thompson Sr. and Willie Tyson Thompson.  He departed this life on May 31, 2019 at the Reid Heart Center, Pinehurst, NC.

Clyde graduated  from Chatham Central High School with the class of 1972.   After graduation, Clyde attended Fayetteville State University for two years. In 1973,  Clyde joined the military to serve his country in the United States Army for three years.  After leaving the military, Clyde returned to Sanford, NC and was employed by several companies over the years.   More recently, he was employed by Chatham County Council on Aging in Pittsboro, NC as a custodian.

Clyde was affectionately known to many as “30 Days” or “June Bug”. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved expressing his love for the Lord through testimony.  He also enjoyed studying the Word, camping and spending time with family and friends. Fifteen years ago, Clyde met the love of his life Chirline Mason and adopted Chirline and her family into his life. During his last days, Clyde spent most of his time enjoying his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Clyde Roy Thompson Sr.; sister, Bertha Ruth Brooks; brother, Larry E. Thompson; maternal grandmother, Lillie Tyson, and paternal grandparents, Ernest Nathaniel and Jannie Palmer Thompson.

Clyde leaves to honor and cherish his memories:  son, Tevin J. Thompson of Portsmouth, VA; daughter, Myah LaShae Thompson of Siler City, NC; his mother, Willie Tyson Thompson, Gulf, NC;  two grandchildren, Laundyn and Sebastian of Siler City, NC; siblings, Gloria Martin (Alexander) of Sanford NC, Carolyn (Ivon) of Gulf, NC, and  Richard Thompson of Durham, NC; sister in law, Sandra Mae Thompson of Goldston, NC, aunts Katherine Austin of Spring Valley, NY, Mary McCants, Ruby Thompson, and Patricia Thompson all of Gulf, NC; and his adopted family that he loved as his own, Chirline Mason, Sonya, Angela, Ronald and Azaria of Siler City, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
