Charmont Freeman King, age 64 of 500 Dudley St., Apt. 216 passed on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sanford, NC.
Charmont Freeman King, first born of the late Anderson and Elnora Smith King, exchanged this life on earth for one of eternal rest and peace early Sunday Morning on November 25, 2018.
Charmont was educated in the Harnett County School System and then went on to learn various trades through LCI, Sanford., NC. Charmont grew up in Cameron but later moved to Sanford where he called home until his death. He was a loved and well known by the residents of Stewart Manor where he lived since May of 2004. From early in life he was a member of St. John, NC, where he loved singing songs with the Gospel Choir and Male Chorus. We can remember a song he often sang, “God’s got a way, you must come in at the door”. This song was taught to him by Evelyn Weathers, Minister of Music who he loved and cherished. Charmont lived a very simple life. He loved the Lord and trusted everyone he encountered. He was fun to be around and his outbursts of laughter were intoxicating.
Preceding him in death was his loving and caring parents, Anderson and Elnora King, a sister, Tamara King, a brother, Andrew King.
Leaving behind to join Charmont at their appointed time are his son, Frankie Petree of Cameron; sisters, Marie King-Cutler (Kenneth) of Cameron, Ethel Mae King, of Sanford, and Cassandra Johnson of Cameron; two aunts, Vernie King, Concord, NC, Annie Robinson (JR) and Doris King, of New York; a lovely granddaughter, Nadia; a special friend, Iris Hunter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Ethel King 15925 NC 27 W., Sanford, NC
