Annie Currie

Ms. Annie Currie age 78 of 353 S. Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, NC passed on February 4, 2018 at Signature Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC.

Annie Lee Woods Currie of Chapel Hill, NC was born April 6, 1939 to the late Frank Woods and Irene Norman. She received her wings and ascended into our Lord Jesus Christ’s arms on February 4, 2018 after a short illness.

Annie attended Person County Schools in Roxboro, NC. She worked at Pines of Chapel Hill as cook for many years until her health failed. She served as a community mother to many children. Even though she had seven children of her own, she never turned one away.  She enjoyed  family, laughter and good food. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters: Lynda Currie of Chapel Hill, NC, Sharon Currie of Chapel Hill NC, Emma Alston (Eric) of Clayton, NC, and Eleanor Currie of Chapel Hill, NC; three children, (deceased): Jerry Currie, Willie Currie and Vickie Currie; eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters: Elizabeth Cheek of Mebane, NC and Catherine Woods (Walter) of Hillsborough, NC; two brothers: William Woods of Chapel Hill and Thurman Woods (Gloria) of Hurdle Mills, NC; two brothers, (deceased); David Woods and Jeffres Woods; a special friend, Ervin Cradle Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
