William Henry McRae Jr.

Mr. William Henry McRae Jr., age 72 of 1904 Carr Creek Drive, Sanford, NC passed on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his residence. 

William Henry McRae, Jr., the son of the late William and Essie McRae, was born on October 21, 1945 in Raeford, NC.  He departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

William graduated from Upchurch School where he played sports and was a member of the marching band. William served in the military and worked in retail management.  He later moved to Sanford, NC where he was joined In Holy Matrimony to Renda Lee Bagley in 1982.

He later discovered his passion of inspiring children when he joined Deep River Elementary School in Sanford, NC where he later retired.  William was an avid reader, poet and artist. He enjoyed watching his UNC Tar Heel basketball team and always had a word or two for his rival Duke friends.

Preceding him in death are his son, Sean Bagley; sister, Margaret Bratcher and brother Percy McRae.

He leaves to cherish wonderful memories of him to his: Loving Wife, Renda McRae of Sanford, NC; son, Jonathan Bagley(Jessica) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy McNeill of Raleigh, NC, Lois Addison of Brooklyn, NY; and  Eva Grace of Raeford, NC and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
