Ruth Pauline Bowden

Ruth Pauline Bowden, age 89, of Siler City, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Genesis Siler City Center, Siler City, NC.

She was born on December 26, 1927, the daughter of the late Albert and Josie (White) Jeffries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Amos Bowden and a son, Roy Ivory Bowden.

Ruth Pauline was a member of the Rocky River Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, a member of the Usher Board and a member of the Hospitality Committee.

She and her family moved to New York in 1961 where they remained for the next 27 years.  She was employed by The Rockland Psychiatric Center (formerly Rockland State Hospital) Orangeburg, NY, returning home to Siler City, NC after retiring.

Cherishing her memory will be her brother, Raeford Jeffries (Vivian) Rock Creek, NC; daughter Brenda Rose (Donald) of Holly Springs, NC; son Randy Bowden (Susan) of Shepherdsville, KY; ten grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at her church on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Following the service the family received friends in the church Fellowship Hall.
