Lucille Woods McMillian

Lucille Woods McMillian, age 89 of 179 High Meadow Drive, Cameron, NC passed on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford, NC. 

Lucille Woods McMillian, 89, was born on February 29, 1928 (which happened to be a leap year) to the late Joseph and Lessie Woods. She was called home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2017, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.

Lucille was educated in Lee County and was a well-known beautician in Sanford and throughout the surrounding area. She was a faithful member of Tempting Congregational Church where she served for many years as church secretary, on the usher board, a member of the missionary society and a longstanding choir member until her health no longer allowed for regular attendance.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons; Vincent Fisher McMillian of Sanford NC, Jerry McMillian and wife, Phenessa of Fairfax VA, and Terry McMillian and wife, Tracey, of Cameron NC; one daughter, Crystle Keel  and husband Jamar of Sanford NC. Lucille was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memories are four sisters, Josephine Graham of Sanford NC, Bertha Mae Woods of Sanford NC, Claretha Johnson of Fairfax VA, and Patricia McKeithan of Sanford NC; one brother, Melvin Woods and wife, Brenda of Sanford, NC; sisters-in-law, Sarah Woods, Lula Woods, Remonia G. Spinks, Pastor Pearline McMillian, Pastor Alice McMillian and Dorothy Linda Pettiford, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

All those that ever attended one of Lucille’s birthday celebrations can truly agree that she was a fun-loving woman who wanted to see a smile on everyone’s face. If you needed a smile, she could certainly put one on your face with her charm, feistiness, and the Love of God which she always shared by loving others. It is these things, amongst so many more, that her family and friends will certainly miss about her and will cherish forever.
