Louise Wilkerson

Louise Wilkerson, age 81 of 614 Oakwood Avenue, Sanford, NC passed on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at her residence.

Louise Wilkerson was born April 17, 1936 in Burlington North Carolina to Ms. Opal Alston; she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2017.

She had various jobs during her life in the health field. She worked at the Old Lee County Hospital and she also was a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Louise gave her life to the Lord and served as an usher at the church she attended. Throughout her illness, she was optimistic and her faith was undeniable. She will truly be missed by her family.

Louise was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Blackwell, her mother and one brother, Ronnie. 

She leaves to celebrate her life: two daughters, Margaret Booty of Houston, TX and Sharon Blackwell of Sanford, N.C.; two sons, Carl Blackwell, Jr. of Sanford, N.C. and Redell Blackwell (Paula) of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren; two of them was reared in the home: DeShawn Townes and John Gilmore, Jr.; four great-grandchildren; four sisters; Mary Cole-Man of Long Island, NY, Brenda Johnson (Frank) of Seneca S.C., Barbara Wilkerson (James) of Sanford, N.C. and Mitzie Haith of Sanford, N.C., one sister-in-law, Delois Haith of Pensacola, Fl.; one aunt, Elnora Heck of Sanford, N.C. and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, family and friends.
