Ms. Joni Lynn Prater, age 34 of 4425 Old Graham Rd., Pittsboro, NC passed on Monday, April 16, 2018 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC.
Another Angel was called home.
Jonie Lynn Prater was born December 5, 1983. She went to our heavenly father on April 16, 2018.
Joni attended Chatham County Schools and Alamance County College. She also earned her CNA at Central Carolina Community College. She was a friend to many many people. Always there to help her friends. Her smile turned strangers into friends for life. Even on the last night of her life she learned not everyone will be a true friend.
Joni leaves behind the remembrance of her beautiful smile to her daughter, Shanya Alyse Cotten age 17 and her son Jayden Amir Headen, age 10 years old; her parents, George C. Scurlock, Jr. and Judy P. Scurlock; one brother, Joshua Richard Prater (Jessica); special nephew, Dayton Prater; nieces: Lilly Dunlap and Lexi Prater; nephews: Mason and Brody Ewing; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
