David B. Moore

Mr. David Boyzella Moore, 64 of 378 South Small Street, Pittsboro, NC passed on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro, NC.

David entered into this world in  Omar,  West. Virginia  on September 12, 1953 to the late Burton Thomas Moore and Shirley Ardelia Dark.  He departed his life at the Laurels of Chatham on October 22, 2017.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley N. Moore.

David joined Staunton Memorial CME Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Gary.  He then went to New York at the age of 20 and attended Mechanic School.  He loved to tinkle with cars and he was pretty good at it.  David joined the army and as a SP4 he served for 19 months, he returned home with an honorable discharge.  He came home and married his sweetheart, Marilyn Watson, two children were born to this union.

David worked for the Town of Pittsboro for many years until the job was transferred, he then went to work with UNC at the Dental School where they gave him the name the "Hat Man" because he would wear different hats.

David leaves to cherish his memories: a son, James Watson "Flip", of Pittsboro, NC, Alisa Watson, Apex, NC; two sisters, Catherine Moore, Pittsboro, NC and Jennifer Tucker , Graham, NC; three brothers, Burton Moore (Ann), Christopher Moore and Earl Brook, all of Pittsboro, NC; one step-uncle, Sam Edward Alston (Barbara), Pittsboro, NC; two step aunts, Mary H. Farrar (Walter) and Patricia Alston, all of Pittsboro, NC; six granddaughters, Ayanna Johnson, Ashanti Watson, Jakla Watson, Aaliyah Watson, JaNiyah Watson and Haylee Moore; three grandsons, Isaiah Moore, Chance Moore and Christian Moore.  David loved his grandchildren they had a special place in his heart, he also leaves a special dear friend, Chris Cheek "Peanut".   A special thanks to Hospice and Tara for all you have done. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
