David Gleason Fox

Mr. David Gleason Fox, 69, of 602 Dudley Street, Sanford, NC passed on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at his residence.

David Gleason Fox was born in Sanford, NC on February 27, 1948 to the late Herman Fox, Jr. and Earleen Fox Rowell.  David entered into his eternal rest on June 21, 2017.

He attended W.B. Wicker High School in Sanford, NC where he drove the bus.

In September 1969 he was united with Minister Mildred Hill Fox, to this union He was given two sons and one daughter.

David grew up in Lemon Springs, NC, in his youth he attended Mt Nebo Church.  Later as a grown man he joined St. Mark United Church of God.  He served on the Usher Board faithfully, this was something he loved and he sang with the Male Choir until his health failed him.  Later in life he joined Evangelic House of God in Springlake, NC.   David never met a stranger, he loved to talk to people and he loved people.  His joy was his children, grandchildren, in-laws, sister and brothers.  He worked many many years at Lee Brick yard, and Frontier Mills in Sanford, NC.  He also worked many years in the surrounding areas.  He was a faithful worker and took care of his family. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya White

Cherishing his memory are; his wife, Minister Mildred Fox; his sons, Daniel Fox and Chavez Fox, he raised  his niece, Melinda Hooker; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Fox (Deloris), Herman Fox, III, Robert Perry; sisters, Josephine White, Linda Fox, Geraldine Fox, Dionica Fox and Fatima Fuller; he is also survived by an uncle, Claude McNeill, brother-in-law, James Hill, Jr., Larry McAuley, Barbara Hill, Bobbie Hill, and a close friend, James Hill, Jr. whom he called "June Bug". David and his brother, Thomas Fox gave him that name.  He also leaves a host of niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.
