Betty Ann (Jennings) Blue

Betty Ann Blue, age 80 of 325 McIver Street, Sanford, NC passed on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing And Rehabilitation Center, Sanford, NC.

Our mother Betty quietly stepped over into eternity on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sanford, NC. surrounded by the love and embrace of her sister, Sedonia Smith sitting at her bed side.

Mother Betty Ann Jennings Blue was born March 21, 1938 to the late Leroy and Josephine Cole Jennings in Sanford North Carolina.

Mother Blue grew up in Sanford, North Carolina and attended Lee County Training Center School (W.B. Wicker School). She later attended the Enrichment Center Classes to receive a degree in Administrative Assistant/ CNA nursing. Mother Blue also worked as an in-home domestic worker in the Sanford area. She enjoyed writing poems, reading and taking care of others. Her famous words were "I’m Too Blessed to be Stressed Too Anointed to be Disappointed tell me about You". Mother loved her family and her Church family, especially her Pastor and First Lady. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Church of God where she held many offices.  She was a Church Mother, Missionary Worker, and she also worked on the Pastors Aide committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late John Walter Blue; a grandson, Aaron Johnson: sisters: Cara Gamble, Willie Thompson, and Elizabeth Fisher; three brothers, her twin brother, Bobby Jennings, Lawrence Jennings, and James Jennings.

She leaves to cherish her memories; three daughters; Mrs. Ethel Johnson of New York, Carolyn Blue, and Patricia Blue of Sanford NC; five sons, John L. Jennings (Dorathy) of Rosepine, Louisiana, Marshall Jennings (Renate) of Norfolk Virginia, Lonnie Blue (Rena) of Sanford NC, Lindell Blue (Kathy) of Cameron NC, Archie Blue (Della) of Sanford, NC; one step son, Bobby Cameron (Mahogany) of Fayetteville, NC;   two sister, Sedonia Smith of Sanford, NC, and Mary Cumming of Killeen Texas; twenty-three grandkids, fifty-two great-grand kids, three great great grand kids, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive family and friends at 35 Georgia Way, Cameron, NC 28326
