Benjamin M. Cheek

Mr. Benjamin McKinley Cheek, age 68 of 637 E. Fifth Street Siler City, NC passed on Saturday, February 10, 2018  at 1800 Williamsburg Rd. Durham, NC. 

Benjamin McKinley Cheek was born on September 16, 1949 to the late Betsy (Lane) and Harold Cheek of Siler City, NC. He went to sleep in the Lord’s arms on February 10, 2018 in Durham, NC. He graduated from Chatham High School in 1967 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1969. After being honorably discharged in 1971 he returned home and later became employed with Southern Railway Company in Winston Salem, NC where he retired after 17 years of service.

Benjamin leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Frita L. Fairley-Pineda of Tampa, FL, LaVonda R. Cheek of Chapel Hill, NC, Bendetta Q. Cheek of Durham, NC and Ashley P. Headen of Charlotte, NC; his son Jarvis M. Cheek of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandchildren; Kierra Cheek, Tyler Failey, Mallory Pineda, Dillon Simpson and Aria Davis, sister Delores (Gilbert) Branch of Siler City, NC and brother Perry (Barbara) Cheek of Siler City. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.
