Beatrice started working at an early age to help supplement the family’s income. She loved her family and always tried to do whatever she could for them; and she met no strangers. She showed herself friendly and as a result has friends in all walks of life even today.

Beatrice’s professional work included Singer Furniture, Wade Lemon’s Poultry Plant and her favorite work, serving as a cafeteria employee in many of Chatham County Schools. She retired in 1976, having been awarded a pen for years of service.

She served as diligently in her church and community as she did on her professional jobs, serving in whatever capacity she was needed, but most notably as Pastor’s Aide member, Deaconness, and she was our Church Mother. She loved her church family and was committed to her Pastor.

Beatrice’s one and only sweetheart is the man she married, Aubrey Bill Taylor. Their union produced four children, Bill Jr., Ernestine, Annie Rose and Doretha. When Bill died on the job at an early age; he left his bride widowed at 35. Anyone who took notice over the years saw this young widow nuture her children into adulthood and their lives were filled with faith building and trust in Christ Jesus.
