Arthur Chester Yarborough

Mr. Arthur Chester Yarborough 74, of 800 Burgess Circle, Broadway, NC passed on Monday, June 19, 2017 at his residence.

Arthur Chester Yarborough passed away at his Broadway residence on June 19, 2017. He was born on May 30, 1943 to the late Mrs. Adline and Mr. William Paul Yarborough.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Delores Yarborough and Gladys Alfreda Pearson; and his twin brother, Paul “Sylvester” Yarborough.

“Chester” attended Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was an employee of Cherokee Brick in Moncure, North Carolina for many years. After leaving the company, he worked at Stevens Milling Company in Broadway, North Carolina. Due to an unfortunate injury he left the workforce and later entered into retirement. He was a nurturing, caring, and compassionate father.

Chester leaves to mourn his loss, a beautiful daughter, Diane Denise Smith (Clarence) of Sanford, North Carolina; brothers Will “Rufus” Yarborough (Dee Taylor) of Lemon Springs, North Carolina, and Willis “Will” Yarborough of New Jersey; three grandchildren: LaToya Shavonne Hopkins (Richard) of Rocky Mount, Virginia; Kendrick Jermaine Smith, and Clarence Smith, Jr. of Sanford, North Carolina; eight great-grandchildren: Eboni Hopkins and Richard Hopkins, III of Rocky Mount, Virginia; Charles K. Roseboro Kendrick J. Smith, Jr., Elijah Johnson, Deanna Shavonne Smith, Clarence T. Smith, Clarence O. Smith of Sanford, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family wishes to acknowledge his former wife of fifteen years (1966-1981), Alvis Delois Allen of Broadway, North Carolina.
